Larder ("the App") is developed by LeadRescue LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what data the App collects, why, and how it's handled.
What we collect
To provide a shared household grocery list, Larder collects and stores:
- Account identifier: a Firebase Authentication user ID, created automatically (anonymous sign-in) the first time you open the App. If you choose to add an email and password, we also store that email address so you can sign back in on a new device.
- Household data: the household name, an invite code, and the list of member user IDs you and the people you invite belong to.
- Grocery item data: item names, categories, quantity notes, who added an item, and purchase history (when an item was last bought and how many times), so the Staples pool can work.
We do not collect payment information, precise location, contacts, photos, or any other sensitive personal data. If you subscribe to Larder Plus, payment is handled entirely by Google Play Billing — Larder and LeadRescue LLC never see or store your payment card details.
How we use it
Data is used exclusively to operate the App: syncing your household's shopping list and Staples pool in real time across every member's device, and enforcing the free-tier item limit.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising (Larder has no ads).
Third-party data processor: Firebase / Google Cloud
Larder is built on Google Firebase (Firestore for data storage/sync, Firebase Authentication for sign-in). Firebase is operated by Google LLC and acts as our data processor — all household and item data described above is stored in Google Cloud infrastructure operated by Firebase. Google's handling of this data is governed by the Firebase Terms of Service and Google Cloud Privacy Notice. We do not run our own servers for this data.
If you enable Firebase Analytics (bundled with the Firebase SDK), Google may also collect standard app-usage analytics (e.g. screen views, crash reports) under Google's own privacy terms.
Data retention & account deletion
Household and item data persists for as long as your household exists. To delete your data:
1. Leave a household: use Settings → "Leave household" to remove yourself from a household's member list. Your added items remain (since they belong to the shared household, not to you individually), but your association with that household is removed. 2. Delete your account entirely: email us at the contact address below and we will delete your Firebase Authentication account and scrub your user ID from any households you belonged to within 30 days. If you were the last member of a household, we will also delete that household's item data. 3. Uninstalling the app removes all data cached locally on your device but does not delete data already synced to Firebase — use option 2 for full deletion.
Children
Larder is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
We'll update the "Last updated" date above if this policy changes and, for material changes, notify users via the App.
